- How to setup IP address of JAKA Cobot ?
CAB of JAKA cobot P10 port(MiniCab LAN1）is static IP: 10.5.5.100, WIFI of CAB(CABxxxx, CABmxxxx) is in the same LAN with P10 IP，P10 IP is not editable.
If external device communication required and IP address device out of range of 10.5.5.100, it will be required customized IP address of LAN2-Bottom port of CAB or LAN2-MinCab LAN2 port. Configure Path: JAKA APP-Setting-System Settings-Network Settings.
IP Setting: Set LAN2 IP address same with the top three bytes of external accessory IP(e.g PLC, Camera, Host Computer) , last byte should unique with other device. Please do not set IP 10.5.5.x, this will cause LAN port identification failure and Login failed.
Subnet Mask： recommend setting 255.255.255.0， this setting is defined the searching range on the LAN. As an example of 255.255.255.0 setting, search range is from 192.168.199.0 to 192.168.100.255. If replaced setting to 255.255.0.0, search range if from 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255.
Default Gateway: top three bytes should be same with IP address, last bytes is setting as 1 in general. If exist presetting in gateway device, default gateway setting will be same with presetting in gateway device.
- How to preventative maintenance on JAKA Cobot
JAKA Cobot is easy on Preventative Maintenance. JAKA Cobot is in modulized design, maintenance tech is able to master joint replacement within half day training. Routine greasing on Joint reducer is not required, only periodical routine inspections are required. Please contact JAKA service team for preventative maintenance in detail.
- How to handle JAKA APP “APP version is not matched” ?
For better user experience and functional updates, JAKA will continue to update on the software version.
Major version of APP and control should be the same; example: v188.8.131.52 controller version is valid for v1.5.14.x App connection, if connection with other version of APP, it will caused program compilation error and data loss risk.
Software Package will be released on JAKA website, please contact JAKA service engineer if other APP version download is required.
Highly recommend download JAKA software package, Controller, SCB, Servo version required version correspondence compatibility to each other, in general, all version need to be matched to each other and updated to the certain version.
Attention: SCB/PSCB and Servo firmware update process is not reversible, please contact JAKA service to confirm the version before updating firmware.
- How to check software version ?
Connect to LAN/WAN which link to JAKA Cobot, Click APP upper right corner, connect the robot.
Cobot & Controller version will be displayed on pop-up window with regular login mode.
After Connect with Cobot, power up and enable cobot, it can be checked with software version (include APP, Servo, SCB and controller) by clicking the “i” icon on the bottom right of the app window.
- What’s the length of Cobot related cable?
Standardize of Zu/C/Pro and MiniCobo Cobot-CAB(Heavy-Duty Cable) is 6m flexible cable.
Control panel of MiniCab and standard CAB is 6m.

- What is login password ?

- Why Cobot Wi-Fi cannot be found ？
Default Wi-Fi start with “CAB” or “CABm”. Please check Hi-Link or GL-MiFi existed setting if Cobot power on and antenna extended confirmed, contact JAKA tech support in case of Wi-Fi reset.
- How can we try it out if we do not have real Cobot in hand ?

- Is JAKA Cobot support Modbus RTU Slave function ?
JAKA Cobot CAB2.1 required to be customized if it is required Modbus RTU Slave function. Default setting of CAB2.1 only support Modbus RTU master function.
JAKA Cobot MiniCab have setting on support Modbus RTU Master & Slave. Please check in detail on User Manual.
- How to simulate JAKA Cobot with RoboDK ?
Download Installation package on RoboDK website, which include JAKA Cobot driver and post-processing files. Training is available on RoboDK website. If you need more documentation about RoboDK set up with JAKA, contact JAKA Tech Support.
- Is there any offline programming JAKA software available for JAKA Cobot ?
User can import, export and edit program with virtual reality experience. If offline programming software required, please contact JAKA service support.
- Is JAKA Cobot support ROS2 ?
JAKA Cobot only support ROS1 currently.
- Is MiniCab compatible with Zu/C/Pro JAKA Robot ?
MiniCab compatible all model in Zu/Pro series JAKA Cobot except Pro16. Please Check MiniCab user manual for details.
- Is there any reference introduction for communication of JAKA Robot and PLC ?
JAKA Github provide communication examples with multi-brand PLC, including Modbus, profinet, Ethernet/IP and etc.
- How achieve the remote cobot control: CAB Power on, Cobot Power on, Enable, Program launch ?
JAKA CAB2.1/Minicab provide a remote boot interface.
Digital input(include entity IO, Modbus IO, Profinet & Ethernet/IP IO) can be set as Power on, Enable, Program launch” function to certain DI, Digital Output setting can be set as certain DO in the same way.
- Why JAKA APP cannot find the robot?

1 Ping command to confirm CAB2.1 or Minicab is as same LAN/WAN as connected device. Wi-Fi connection or wired link to LAN1 and IP is 10.5.5.100.
2. Disable Firewall or set trust Zu APP.
3. Connect JAKA Cobot with compatible version.
- Why Zu/Pro series Cobot equipped with MiniCab fail to respond when Cobot power on ?
It requires 48v power supply when Zu/Pro series Cobot equipped with Minicab, JAKA APP setting- Hardware and communication-Brake Voltage-Set Vbrake ≥+3V.
- Is there required vision controller for JAKA Lens 2D ?
Vision controller is not required. Vision software is built in JAKA X64 version controller CAB2.1(Version can be checked on JAKA APP). Maximized supporting 4 Lens 2D Camera for 1 Cobot.
- What is every model power peak consumption ?
Power consumption will be increase when robot Power On, Enable & Emergency Stop
- How can we deal with robot stuck with severe collision, or failure on enable processing ?
The solution requires released brake of Joint. JAKA provide two options to release the brake.
1.Robot Power On status: Entry to JAKA APP Maintenance UI release Brake.
1.1 entry to Maintenance UI：JAKA logo on upper left corner, click 10 times, input password JAKAAMAZING.
1.2 Switch to Brake release interface, Select joint which required brake released ，the brake release after clip sound happen on joint.
2.Robot power off, take off the cap and click electromagnet as the following drawing:
- Where is JAKA Modbus Address Table ？
JAKA robot is configured as Modbus Slave, please take reference on JAKA APP user manual for related Modbus register address.
Please notice software version match certain address table, address table will be difference when software version changed.
